Meta Quest VR Games — Starting & Feedback Devices

These notes apply to the three Meta Quest VR pinball titles — Pinball FX VR, Star Wars Pinball VR and Pinball VR Classics. They cover two things new users often miss: how to make the game listen to your cabinet, and what feedback to expect.

Activate the VirtuaTilt at the main game menu (important!)

When a Meta Quest pinball game starts, it listens to the Meta Quest hand controllers first — not your cabinet. You have to hand control over to the VirtuaTilt:

X-Arcade Mode (XAM) and Standard Mode apply to Pinball FX VR only. Star Wars Pinball VR and Pinball VR Classics have no XAM or Standard mode — each has its own dedicated profile and is activated with the A button on the VirtuaTilt (above). The both-flipper-button press is a Pinball FX VR / X-Arcade Mode step only; never use it for the other two games.

Set the Quest hand controllers aside once the game is running. This is simply how these games treat any external controller — it is not a VirtuaTilt fault. (Not sure which cabinet button is "A"? See the Default Buttons Mapping chapter.)

What feedback to expect

On the Quest VR games the only feedback you will feel is the flippers — there is no shaker and no other feedback effects. The Quest hand controllers vibrate on their own, but that rumble is not routed to the cabinet on these games, so apart from the flippers the cabinet stays quiet. This is normal and expected.

NOTE: Full cabinet feedback — the shaker plus the other solenoid events — comes from the PC pinball games driven by DOF / DOFLinx, not from the standalone Meta Quest titles.

NOTE: Star Wars Pinball VR also needs an in-game flipper remap (LT/RT → LB/RB) every time you launch it — see Star Wars Pinball VR: flippers not responding.
