Output Ports Testers
⚠ DOF / DOFLinx setup & configuration are out of scope for 3DPTronics support. VirtuaTilt is 100% compatible with them, but our help is limited to what these written guides already cover — we cannot create, debug, or tune DOF / DOFLinx configs for you. Virtual pinball has a steep learning curve; please study the guides and lean on each project's own documentation and community. We value your feedback and help where we can, but we cannot go further than the guides.
GUIConfigTool includes two tools to verify that your feedback devices (the solenoids and the shaker motor) are working correctly:
NOTE: Both testers run entirely inside GUIConfigTool at the Pinscape firmware level and drive the cabinet's output ports directly — they do not involve DOF (the PC DirectOutput Framework). A passing test confirms your feedback devices, wiring and Pinscape output configuration are good; it does not tell you whether DOF is installed or configured on your PC. DOF is a separate software layer that drives these same ports from games during play — so if a device fires in the tester but not in a game, the cabinet is fine and the problem is game-/DOF-side.
Output Port Tester — exercises the cabinet's logical output ports through the normal Pinscape driver chain (the mapped ports, exactly as a game would drive them during play). Use this first when troubleshooting a device that is not firing.
Output Hardware Tester — accesses the physical output ports directly, bypassing the logical port mapping. Use this only if the higher-level tester does not help isolate the issue.
WARNING: Flipper Logic protective timers are DISABLED while the Output Hardware Tester is open. Take extra care with solenoids — a port stays activated until you click it again to turn it off, and there is no automatic timeout. Do not leave a solenoid energized for long periods. We are not responsible if you blow fuses or damage feedback devices.
